Prior to the conclusion of 2002, dozens of different types of mattresses constructed with VersaShield had been tested for compliance with California's TB 129 open-flame test protocol. All passed with flying colors.

Within days of California Assembly Bill 603 (AB603) being proposed, testing was resumed at an independent laboratory to ensure the same difficult constructions also met this new dual-flame residential flammability standard when constructed with VersaShield.

The test showed mattresses constructed with VersaShield Fire Barrier Fabric easily met the new standards - even when the burn time lengths are more than doubled!
